After making some controversial comments about educators, radio celebrity and comedian Dave Hughes was challenged by United Voice members to visit a centre and find out what it's really like to be an early childhood professional.
When Hughesy arrived today for the challenge, he tried to look cool - but it was pretty clear just how nervous he was.
The work may look easy or simply 'fun' to a casual observer, but a lot of planning and training is behind every activity.
The highlight was Hughesy's expression on learning that early childhood educators are paid only $20 an hour – and then he told us how much respect he has for us, for doing such an important job. Knowing this now, the celebrity has now stepped up as our first Big Steps Ambassador!
