On Friday 18 November 2016 United Voice will be hosting a conference in Sydney on the state of equal pay in 2016.
The purpose of the conference is to connect with the community of activists, champions and academics active in the community on issues of pay equity.
We want to have a conversation with activists and stakeholders about what pay equity means in the 21st century, why we haven’t achieved it yet and what we can do now to change this.
We will be joined by guest speakers Libby Lyons, Sally McManus and Eva Cox. See their bios here.
Join us on November 18
We welcome any interested participants (though space is limited!).
In order to make it as accessible as possible we are not charging for this event.
United Voice represents early childhood educators across the country who are campaigning for professional wages.
Part of this campaign is our application currently before the Fair Work Commission (FWC) for an equal remuneration order (ERO).
As with all things worthwhile the case is challenging and we need the whole community to be aware of, and get involved in campaigning for equal pay for early childhood educators.
Our members’ current fight stands on the shoulders of those who have fought before us and will set precedent for those that come after us - early childhood educators are the current front line of an ongoing battle.
