Today the Fair Work Commission has handed down a long-overdue ruling on our application for the Equal Pay Case.
The Commission has said that the Equal Pay Case can proceed, and that we must demonstrate that early childhood educators are underpaid compared to male-dominated professions with similar levels of qualifications.
Whilst this progress is welcome, it is outrageous that the legal process for delivering professional wages is currently so complicated and slow.
Everyone knows that educators deserve equal pay now and that a responsible government would have fixed this already.
Whilst our legal experts work around the clock to build a winning case for equal pay, educators will continue to escalate their campaign. Last month, educators voted overwhelmingly for further walk-offs. If you're an educator who wants to participate, register your interest here.
